Genesis 14:2

That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

The five kings who went to war against Chedorlaomer and his confederates were the kings of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim, and Bela, which is Zoar. Their armies met the invaders in the vale of Siddim, where they suffered a decisive defeat with many slain and the survivors fleeing to the mountains. That conflict placed Sodom among the cities at war with the eastern kings and opened the way for Abraham to rescue the captives carried off by the Elamites. His triumph over a far superior force, joined with his unselfish dealing with the prisoners and the spoil, turned eyes in Sodom toward the true faith and made plain that divine power had made him the conqueror.
