Abraham and Sarah Under the Stars Before Isaacby CBPepper
21:1Genesis 21:1
And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
God visited Sarah and did for her exactly as He had said and spoken, fulfilling His promise to Abraham and Sarah by giving them a child in their advanced old age. The fulfillment came precisely according to the word previously given, with nothing lacking from what had been promised.
This fulfillment demonstrated God's unlimited power and proved that nothing is impossible with Him. Zacharias should have called the case of Abraham and Sarah to mind and remembered their experience when the angel promised that his own elderly wife would bear a son. Instead he doubted because he was an old man and his wife was well advanced in years and well stricken in years.
