Genesis 22:19

So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer-sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.

This verse closes the account in Genesis 22:1-19 in which God commanded Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering, a command Abraham began to carry out by waking Isaac to go with him in obedience.
In this test Abraham obeyed fully and did not let doubt, fear of what others would think, concern for his work among them, or his painful attachment to his son become an excuse for disobedience.
He did not stop to question how God's promise could be fulfilled if Isaac died, but trusted that God was just and righteous.

The account teaches confidence in God's requirements even when they are painful.
It teaches that nothing is too precious to give to God.
It teaches submission by children to parents and to God.
