Genesis 22:20
And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor; And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;
After Abraham's test on Mount Moriah the account turns to tidings brought to him that Milcah has borne children to his brother Nahor, Milcah being Nahor's wife. This notice of Nahor's family belongs to the record of God's providential dealings with Abraham's family. The verses that follow name Nahor as Abraham's brother, Haran as Nahor's city, and Bethuel as Nahor's son, with Bethuel called a Syrian as father of Rebekah and Laban, so linking Haran and Nahor with Syria.
The verse stands within Genesis 22 as the account of the great test of Abraham's faith. In that test Abraham receives his son back in figure from the dead. This shows that the promised seed and salvation come by God's power and not by human schemes.
