Genesis 27:46
And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me? And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?
Genesis 27:46 stands within the account of Jacob's deception in obtaining the blessing. Rebekah's wrong counsel in that affair brought it about that Jacob was compelled to flee for his life because of Esau's wrath. That flight separated Jacob from Rebekah permanently, so that she never saw his face again, which she repented in bitterness. Isaac lived many years after he gave Jacob the blessing and became convinced, by the later course of Esau and Jacob, that the blessing rightly belonged to Jacob. The deception in this chapter exemplifies deceptive dealings that stand condemned.
