Genesis 28:4
And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham. And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.
The verse belongs to the blessing Isaac gave to Jacob. In it Isaac renewed the covenant promise to Jacob as its inheritor, giving him the father's blessing and bidding him to seek a wife from his mother's family in Mesopotamia.
Jacob carried that blessing with him when he went out from his father's home as a fugitive threatened with death by the wrath of Esau. He set out with a deeply troubled heart on a lonely journey with only his staff in his hand, to travel hundreds of miles through a country inhabited by wild, roving tribes. In remorse and timidity he sought to avoid men lest his angry brother trace him, fearing he had lost forever the blessing God had purposed to give him while Satan pressed temptations upon him. Isaac later became convinced by the subsequent courses of Jacob and Esau that the blessing rightly belonged to Jacob.
