Genesis 30:27
And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake. And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.
Jacob took charge of Laban's property and tended it, and while it was in his hands that property increased. Laban observed the growth of his flocks and goods under Jacob's care and discerned its cause. He recognized that the Lord had blessed him on account of Jacob, that divine favor had come to his house through Jacob's presence and service. That prosperity gave him a strong motive to keep Jacob with him, so he urged him to tarry rather than depart.
