Genesis 34:19
And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob’s daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father. And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob’s daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.
The young man did not put off doing the thing required of him, but agreed to the proposed circumcision at once and without delay. His promptness came from his delight in Jacob's daughter and his desire for her. He held an honorable place in his father's household, being more honorable than all the rest of his father's house. His agreement stands within the account in which Simeon and Levi deceived the people of Shechem and then destroyed them cruelly, so that his desire and honorable standing did not keep the events from ending in violence and bloodshed.
