Genesis 34:8

Genesis 34:8 belongs to the account of Dinah's dishonor and the events that followed at Shechem. That account began when Dinah went out among the people of the land. In the verse Hamor asks Dinah's family to give Dinah to his son Shechem in marriage. The account ended in shame, murder, and the destruction of a city. Simeon and Levi deceitfully destroyed the people of Shechem in a cruel act of vengeance.
