Genesis 41:50
And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him. And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.
The larger account containing this verse predicts seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine, made known through Pharaoh's dreams. Those years, once only a matter of prophecy, then took place exactly within the given time in accordance with the prediction. This shows that events foretold as limited to a given time occur within that time.
This verse belongs to the time when Joseph was supplied with resources in the years before the famine arrived, so that widespread distress could be relieved when it came. He used what had been entrusted to him to lift severe want and set the burdened free, rather than looking on his people in distress and passing by on the other side. To act the part of Joseph is to relieve suffering as far as the means provided allow. To relieve the neediest followers of Christ in this way is to serve Christ himself.
