Genesis 45:23
And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father by the way. And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father by the way.
Joseph sent his father a generous and valuable supply from Egypt to provide for him on the way and to care for his move to Egypt during the famine. The supply consisted of ten male donkeys laden with the good things of Egypt and ten female donkeys laden with grain, bread, and meat for the journey. The brothers were sent away abundantly provided with food, wagons for transport, and everything needed to bring Jacob's household and their own families to Egypt, with more valuable presents given to Benjamin than to the others.
The abundant provision was an expression of Joseph's glad forgiveness of his brothers and the means appointed for the journey and removal to Egypt. As he sent them, Joseph charged his brothers not to quarrel on the way, because he feared they would dispute and blame one another for their cruel treatment of him. Jacob did not believe the report that Joseph was alive and governor over all Egypt until he heard all Joseph's words and saw the wagons and laden animals sent to carry him; then he was convinced Joseph was alive, his spirit revived, and he declared it was enough and determined to go and see Joseph before he died.
