Genesis 45:27
And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived: And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:
At first Jacob could not believe his sons' joyful report that Joseph was yet alive and governor over all Egypt, and his heart fainted. They told him after humbly confessing the wrongs they had committed against Joseph and entreating his forgiveness. They reported with great rejoicing, for they had suffered long remorse and great distress of mind since their cruelty toward him, and now that they knew they were not guilty of his blood their troubled minds were relieved.
His spirit revived when they told him all the words Joseph had said to them and when he saw the wagons and carriages Joseph had sent, with abundant provisions, to carry him and his family to Egypt. Hearing Joseph's message repeated and seeing the proof he had sent convinced him that the news was true. Revived, he was satisfied that it was enough that Joseph was alive. He rejoiced at the prospect of seeing him again and resolved to go to Egypt to see him before he died.
