Genesis 47:14

And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.

The verse belongs to the famine that drove people from Canaan to Egypt to buy grain, when Jacob's sons made that journey to obtain food. In that famine Joseph gathered all the money paid for grain in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan and brought it into Pharaoh's house. The food he had stored and then supplied thereby brought wealth to Egypt.

The Egyptians paid until they sold their property and themselves for food, while the Israelites did not sell their cattle, their lands, or themselves. Joseph's father and brothers were exempt from payment and received food liberally. He gave his family a place to live and supplied them with food.
