Genesis 48:13
And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near unto him. And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near unto him.
The scene belongs to the extended Genesis 42-50 narrative of Joseph as ruler in Egypt during the seven years of famine. It takes place when there is bread throughout all the land of Egypt while dearth lies upon all other lands including Canaan, so that Jacob's sons journey from Canaan to buy grain. At that time they bow down with their faces to the earth before Joseph without recognizing him, in fulfillment of his dreams.
