Genesis 48:4
And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession. And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.
Genesis 48:4 belongs to the time of the severe famine that extended from Egypt to the land of Canaan where Jacob was dwelling. During that famine, when word reached Jacob's family of abundant provision of grain in Egypt, ten of Jacob's sons made the journey there to buy food. Upon arriving, those ten sons bowed with their faces to the earth before Joseph, who stood as ruler of the land.
