Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens:
Genesis 49:14 belongs to the inspired words Jacob spoke to his sorrowing children as his dying testimony in his last hours. It was not spoken from an unforgiving or resentful spirit over past wrongs, for Jacob had forgiven his children and loved them to the last, mourning for Joseph and grieving over Simeon. His own paternal feeling would have uttered only love and tenderness, but God by the spirit of prophecy lifted his mind above natural feeling to utter inspired truth even when painful. As he spoke, angels were around him and the power of God's grace shone upon him.
Unlike the gloomy prophecy against Simeon and Levi that set forth God's view of their deeds of violence and that He would visit them for their sins, the prophetic words concerning the other sons including Issachar were not as gloomy.
