Habakkuk 2:8
Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men’s blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein. Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men’s blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.
Because many nations have been plundered and blood has been shed, all that remains of the peoples will in turn plunder the spoiler, and judgment will repay the violence done to humanity, to the land, to the city, and to all who live in it. This retribution belongs to the Old Testament prophecies of destruction and desolation appointed for the last days. The scenes of ruin it describes will soon be witnessed, and its fulfillment in the last days is certain. That certainty is as sure as the desolation actually witnessed at San Francisco, which stands as proof that such foretold overthrow does come to pass.
What is pictured here only faintly describes the reality that will exist when the end is near. At that time Satan is drilling his army, developing strong parties made ready for the great battle of the last great conflict. Then evil shall spring forth, and what is pictured will become a living reality.
