Habakkuk 3:10
The mountains saw thee, and they trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice, and lifted up his hands on high. The mountains saw thee, and they trembled: the overflowing of the water passed by: the deep uttered his voice, and lifted up his hands on high.
The text portrays the appearing of Christ in divine glory, with the mountains trembling before Him and the deep answering with its voice and uplifted hands as creation responds in awe. It belongs to a vision in which God scatters the nations and goes forth with His anointed to save His people. That going forth is for the deliverance of His people and the bringing in of the reign of righteousness. The trembling mountains and surging waters display God's overwhelming power. They will be seen in the convulsions of nature during the time of trouble, when mountains shake as God's voice shakes the earth. Then the sea boils and casts stones onto the land.
