Habakkuk 3:19
The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
The Lord God is the strength of the prophet, of His people together, and of every single believer. Even when every source of earthly provision fails, with harvest and field crops gone and flocks and herds lost, the believer can still rejoice in the Lord as salvation. That rejoicing holds when material needs are unmet and loss is severe, trusting Him to save and to sustain. Through deep trial He renews hope and courage.
He gives feet like those of the deer over elevated ground, which means sure footing to stand and to move securely upon high places. By that gift the believer is enabled to walk securely through difficult circumstances, steady where the way is steep and hard. The verse is an assurance for times of peril, and actively exercising faith in God's promises makes them real in the believer's life. That lived faith also teaches others to walk carefully.
