Christ Riding a White Horse with Angelsby KandD

Habakkuk 3:3

God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

The verse pictures God coming from Teman and the Holy One from Mount Paran, His glory covering the heavens and the earth full of His praise, displaying His majestic presence and power acting to save His people. In Habakkuk's prayer for revival and mercy, this belongs to the account of God delivering His people and judging the nations. The Mighty One, the Holy One from Mount Paran, is Jesus Christ.

The prophecy reaches its final fulfillment in Christ's glorious second coming in brightness and power to bring salvation to His people and His anointed. It is a vision of Christ's coming to usher in the reign of righteousness. He comes with the heavenly hosts, His brightness like light, with a radiant cloud accompanying Him, His glory filling the heavens and the earth filled with His praise.

The verse also means Christ was to tread the winepress alone with none of the people with Him, His own arm bringing salvation through His ready sacrifice. This was fulfilled in Gethsemane, where the disciples slept in the hour of His bitterest agony. There He bore alone an agony none but God could endure.

The glory filling the heavens and praise filling the earth was displayed in creation's beauty as it came from the Creator's hand untouched by sin or death. The earth was then a fitting emblem of His goodness and truth, a study through which people could learn of Him. Creation spoke of His tender, fatherly care and desire to make His children happy, with the earth resounding with praise. The glory seen in the heavens and the beauty and life of the natural world still testify to God's power, goodness, care and love, so that even though sin has marred creation it still reveals its Creator.
