Angels are holy ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation, and they are actively engaged in that work for them day and night.RH Aug 1, 1907+4 This ministry stands in contrast with Christ's exalted place far above them, for He is greater than the angels and is the great Minister and Mediator of redemption.Ms 179, 1907, par. 5–9+2 Ministry to fallen people is possible only through Him, who joins heaven to earth as the ladder Jacob saw, bridging the gulf made by sin so blessings and help can come through angels to striving souls.LC1 149.2–3+4 The heirs are sinners adopted into God's family through covenant with Christ, cleansed and called sons of God, and their relation as brethren of Christ is more sacred than that of angels who never fell.Ms 57, 1907, par. 7–10+2 Angels are commissioned to guard, guide and protect these heirs from the powers of darkness, surrounding them in danger, driving back evil, and aiding the tempted and discouraged, while cooperating with human workers in rescuing souls and carrying forward the gospel mission.MH 253.3+4

Angels are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation, and they are actively engaged in that ministry.RH Aug 1, 1907+4 Every true child of God has the help of heavenly beings, for angels of light and power attend humble believers who trust God and claim His promises.AA 154.2+1 They watch over believers and work in their behalf, ascending and descending on the ladder of mediation to carry out their commission of care and love as willing messengers bringing mercy, love and joy and standing ready to cooperate with human agents.Ms 57, 1907, par. 5–6+1

The chapter in which the verse stands shows the Father and the Son are distinct individual persons, and the great salvation offered through God's gift of His Son means eternal life to the receiver.RH Aug 1, 1907 The ministering work of angels stands in contrast with Christ's exalted position above them, for Christ is greater than the angels and is the great Minister as Mediator in the work of redemption.Ms 179, 1907, par. 5–9+2 Angels are set far below the Son who was begotten of the Father, is worshiped by all angels, is addressed as God, is enthroned forever with righteous rule, was anointed with gladness for loving right and hating wrong, created earth and heaven and remains the same while creation wears out and is changed, and is seated at God's right hand until His enemies are put under Him.Ms 105, 1901, par. 10–11

The verse holds out a precious promise of help and care for heirs of salvation, calling for grasping eternal realities, purifying the mind from sin and the pull of the world, shutting out earthly things and opening to the glory of God from heaven, and worshiping Christ who first loved us and making Him the center of attraction.Ms 105, 1901, par. 10–11 The Holy Spirit represents Christ in the world to bring fallen people power from above to overcome.Ms 57, 1907, par. 5–6 Christ did not leave His followers without help when He ascended, for the Holy Spirit as His representative and the angels aid them in the fight of faith while Jesus watches over each person, understands character, and surrounds with influences for good those who accept His guidance so they can do His will.Ms 57, 1907, par. 5–6+1

The verse gives a glad message for all and encouragement for every tried and tempted soul, reaching down along the line to the present time for those who will inherit salvation.Ms 29, 1900, par. 28 It shows that angels are truly sent to this world to serve those future heirs, and that they are not always invisible but sometimes veil their heavenly appearance and come as men to converse with human beings and enlighten them.Ms 29, 1900, par. 28+1 These heavenly beings actively help in human affairs, for they may appear as people, encourage those in danger, accompany travelers, speak in assemblies, and perform works beyond human ability, and their service connects heaven and earth so that their presence means heavenly beings hear words and see actions.Ms 39, 1898, par. 12–14

The ministering spirits are holy heavenly angels, not the spirits of dead people.GC88 511.1+4 They are real beings, as are evil angels, superior to humans, innumerable, powerful, glorious and swift, existing and connected with human history before any human being had died and serving God in His rule and redemption.GC88 511.1+4 Scripture teaches that the dead know nothing, and its account of angels connected with human history before any human being had died confirms that angelic ministry is distinct from the dead returning to help the living.GC 511.1+1 The belief that the dead return to minister to the living prepares people to accept spiritualist communications, while fallen angels impersonate messengers from the spirit world and use those communications to influence them.GC 551.1+1

Angelic ministry is part of the law of service that gives life to others.ED 103.2+2 This proves that service is the great law of life in both heaven and earth, the same law seen when the Father sustains the life of every living thing and when Christ came as one who serves, and when every part of nature lives to give to others.ED 103.2+1 Their ministry reflects the law seen throughout nature where living things serve beyond themselves, and each takes in order to give.ST Nov 30, 1915+1

Angels are a vast host, thousands upon thousands and ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands, including cherubim and seraphim and angels that excel in strength, standing at God's right hand and sent as invisible armies of light and power to attend, care for and cooperate with those who shall be heirs of salvation.Ms 13, 1900, par. 4+4 They are constantly ascending and descending by commission, ministering in cities, towns and villages, surrounding God's people as a wall of fire and pressing back the powers of darkness so Satan cannot hurt those who trust in the Lord.Ms 13, 1900, par. 4+2 Their watchcare guards especially the youth and students, and guards against temporal evil, shielding from peril and keeping people from destruction when Satan would destroy on every hand, which calls for valuing God's watchcare, recounting the mercy often, giving thanks every moment even in apparent difficulty, and trusting the heavenly Father.Ms 65, 1901, par. 17+2 They are actively engaged in carrying out God's plans with intense earnestness to bring fallen man from rebellion to reconciliation and to moral efficiency in Christ, attending the meek and lowly who believe and claim the promises, whose mission as angel visitants needs to be better understood.COL 176.3+1

They excel in wisdom and strength and in all efficiency, and fulfill their work in the world in both judgment and mercy as dispatched to serve those who will inherit salvation.Lt 193, 1901, par. 29–30+2 Those they serve walk in the light of God's commandments, are very precious in His sight and covered by His warning not to touch His anointed or harm His prophets, and their ministry meets the last days when Satan uses all his powers to afflict, distress, discourage and trouble God's people.Lt 193, 1901, par. 29–30+1 They do His commandment and hearken to the voice of His word, and are near to help all who draw nigh to God and trust in Him, so those who walk in the footsteps of Jesus are safe in God's work and are in noble company requiring gentle and calm speech rather than rash and hasty speech that would make angels ashamed.Lt 193, 1901, par. 29–30

The angels who never fell do God's will continually and are sent on busy errands of mercy to this world, where for ages they shield, guide and guard God's workmanship, both the just and the unjust.Ms 36, 1890, par. 16 Their service is rich and glorious and involves conflicts fought in behalf of men to protect them, to lead them, to win them and to draw them from Satan's snares, and if human eyes could catch glimpses of it and the mind grasp and dwell upon it, human conduct and religious feeling would be different.Ms 36, 1890, par. 16 A countless host ministers to men's needs, guarding like an Eye that never slumbers guarding the camp of Israel and crying this is the way walk in it, giving light and spiritual guidance so people are not left in midnight darkness without guidance nor become the sport of Satan's temptations, and those who hear and trust God's guidance rather than finite judgment are kept safe.Ms 8, 1900, par. 1

They are engaged night and day in the service of God for the uplifting of man in accordance with the plan of salvation, unwearied in efforts to save fallen men.ST Apr 3, 1893+1 They are commissioned as helpers moving between earth and heaven, constantly ascending and descending and carrying a record of human actions.ST Jan 16, 1893+1 Their continuous and persevering service leaves those who partake of Christ's love with no right to think there is a limit to their influence and work to benefit humanity, but calls them to continuous persevering work and to work and wait in submission to God's will until the Master bids them lay their armor at His feet.ST Apr 30, 1902

They always have access to the presence of God, and this means God guards the interests of His people and vindicates His trusting believing children.Lt 177, 1900, par. 31–33 Any intimidation, unkind treatment or contempt shown to them is counted as shown to Himself, and He will not allow wrong done to His children without punishing the wrongdoer, but will vindicate justice and truth and righteousness.Lt 177, 1900, par. 31–33 Therefore nothing should be obtained by hurting or injuring another, it is far better to suffer injustice than to commit one wrong act, and all dealings should reveal mercy, justice and love which are His attributes, while selfishness and oppression are abhorred by Him and the oppressor's course is written in the books of heaven and will react upon himself whatever his standing or position.Lt 177, 1900, par. 31–33

They are active workers who serve God by ministering to human beings, God's working ministers and workers sent to serve.ST Nov 12, 1885+4 Heaven is not a place of idle ease or sinful idleness or idle inaction but of purposeful active order, and faithful servants who labor for Christ and finish their work and conquer through the cross will enter their Lord's joy and receive glorious rest from weariness and from conflict with sin and Satan and the reward prepared for those who conquer through Christ.ST Nov 12, 1885+3 Their service proves work is a blessing for happiness and not a curse.ST Nov 12, 1885+1

They are God's ministers on earth carrying out His will, having charge of His work and counseling and directing it and His people through chosen human agents.LJAHS 37.1+3 The work is not left in the hands of any one person on earth, nor in the hands of James or any other one, but moves forward as angels oversee it through chosen agents.LJAHS 37.1+1

Holy angels are messengers from the throne sent to this earth with the great object of divine compassion, the uplifting of fallen humanity, leaving heaven to minister to those who shall be heirs of salvation.ST May 24, 1899+3 They come down in mighty power as a vast army in chariots of fire encamping in the valleys, not to consume, not to despise, not to rule over them nor to condemn or destroy nor to demand worship or exact homage, but to guard the Lord's chosen servants and encamp round about the faithful and the weak and helpless ones.ST+2 In times of danger when Satan seeks to destroy God's people and goes forth as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, heavenly beings surround the small company and little flock who love and fear God, working with Christ and with human agents seeking and saving the lost whom God values as the purchase of Christ's blood, as when the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha at Dothan.ST May 24, 1899+4

Even the highest beings in the universe joyfully bow and serve continually before His throne, so serving God is not weak or undignified but the noblest work, and young people should likewise serve others as agents of mercy helping meet human needs and suffering.ST Nov 3, 1881 Heaven and earth are no wider apart now than when angels met common workers at noonday and sang to shepherds watching flocks by night, and humanity is still as much the object of heaven's care.Lt 1, 1880, par. 5–6+1 Heaven may be very near in the common walks of life, and angels from the courts above attend the steps of those who come and go at God's command and meet common people of common occupations, giving special guardianship to heirs in daily life, for it is not climbing to eminence but a humble life of goodness and fidelity that makes a person great in God's sight and the object of angels' special care, as Jesus proved when though all the angel host was at His command He lived nearly thirty years hidden in obscure Nazareth as a carpenter working for wages unhonored and unknown.Lt 1, 1880, par. 5–6+2

The heirs are sinners and aliens brought back to God and adopted into His family through covenant with Jesus Christ, cleansed by the regenerating power of the Word.Ms 57, 1907, par. 7–10+1 They are called sons of God and may address Him by the endearing name Our Father, which is both a sign of affection for Him and a pledge of His tender regard for them.ST Jul 13, 1904 To be an heir of salvation is to be a subject of grace with salvation and holiness of heart, to be earnestly sought for children with hungering and thirsting desire through crying to God in family prayer for them to receive it.Ms 5, 1859, par. 48

Beholding these heirs of grace, the Son of God is not ashamed to call them brethren.ST Jul 13, 1904 Their relation to God as adopted sons and brethren of Christ is even more sacred than that of the angels who have never fallen, though those angels are sent to minister for them.ST Jul 13, 1904 As heirs, believers face powerful temptations and depend on God and divine grace for all strength to overcome.ST Nov 18, 1886+1 They need earnest, persevering communion with God in prayer, praying with the whole soul and wrestling earnestly with God for His blessing, and being so favored calls for gratitude shown through living piety and obedience to the Word.ST Nov 18, 1886+2

Being heirs of salvation means man is offered to inherit all Christ's wealth.5T 204.1 Christ's coming to the world with the hoarded love of eternity in His heart unveiled the Father's love for the guilty race as just and the justifier of him that believeth, demonstrating the great value of those souls.5T 204.1 Joined with the giving of His beloved Son, God's commission of all the heavenly intelligences to minister to the human race proves the value heaven places on the human soul.Ms 90, 1894, par. 6–7 Though it is not yet known who will overcome and share the saints' inheritance in light, angels range throughout the earth to comfort the sorrowing, protect those in danger, and win hearts to Christ.ST Dec 13, 1905+2 No one is neglected, for God shows no partiality and cares equally for every soul He has created, and the whole heavenly universe waits around the throne of God watching every movement and standing ready to minister to every willing soul, to join in every good work bringing relief to the suffering and light to those ignorant of the truth.ST Dec 13, 1905+3 When people welcome Christ's needy and suffering ones in His name they welcome unseen angels and their companionship, and deeds of mercy bring joy in heaven.DA 638.1–639.2+1

Each person has freedom of choice whether to stand under rebellion or under Christ, who came to this world and endured suffering and affliction for them.Ms 80, 1900, par. 16–17+1 Angels are sent today to minister to those who shall be heirs by helping them escape from Satan's power and stand as faithful volunteers in the army of Christ.Ms 80, 1900, par. 16–17+1 Heaven watches the conflict between good and evil with deep solicitude, only the obedient can enter the gates of the city of God, and those who choose to continue in transgression will at last receive the death sentence and be finally destroyed when the earth is purified from their evil, defiance and rebellion.Ms 80, 1900, par. 16–17+1 At infinite expense God joined the angels to men so men do not have to fight the wily foe in their own strength, the angels watching over the children of men and sheltering and guarding them on the right and on the left because all heaven is interested that they shall not perish but have everlasting life.Ms 1, 1890, par. 19 This ministry of angels belongs together with God sending Jesus Christ to be a sacrifice and die that man might have eternal life, and to turn to the devil and his agents is to take oneself out of the hands of the angels of God and put oneself into the hands of the devil.Ms 1, 1890, par. 19

Those described as heirs of salvation should therefore act wisely and faithfully as stewards of the Lord's money, rather than let it pass into the enemy's ranks.1T 199.2 This heavenly care condemns the injustice and cruelty of originating and preserving the liquor traffic.Ms 90, 1894, par. 6–7 Those who take a leading part in making men drunkards act against the ministry of heaven, lack the mind that was in Christ Jesus, and will be held accountable in heaven for degrading souls redeemed by Christ's price on Calvary and for lowering a character that ought to have reflected the image of God to below the brute creation.Ms 90, 1894, par. 6–7

Ministry to fallen people is possible only through Christ, who alone opens communication between God and humanity.LC1 149.2–3+3 He is the ladder of Jacob's vision, its foot on earth in His descent into human suffering in sympathy and pity, its top reaching heaven in His divine power, thus linking finite people to the infinite God.LC1 149.2–3+3 The ladder has its base resting on earth in His human nature and its top reaching the throne of God in His divinity, and the light of God's glory illuminates its whole length and shines into every believing heart to enlighten, strengthen and encourage.Ms 36, 1889, par. 5–6+1 Through Him angels pass between heaven and earth bearing messages of love and ministering to the heirs of salvation, and through the merit of Christ and the ransom found in His perfection rebels who submit may be reconciled and justified.LC1 149.2–3+3 In reform work angels seek to do all in their power to aid human efforts and bring power from above, so that faithful work done in weakness in the fear of God bears fruit for faith and labor of love.Lt 1, 1875, par. 30–34

They are the angels Jacob saw ascending and descending the ladder of shining brightness, with its base resting on the earth and its top reaching to the highest heavens and entering the throne of God.Ms 36, 1889, par. 5–6+2 God is above the ladder, and the beam of His light and glory shines upon its whole length, with angels shining in brightness on every round as the gate of heaven.Ms 36, 1889, par. 5–6+1 Through them communication is kept up between the heavenly world and the fallen world, so that man is not left to the invisible foe to be led into snares and deluded and have spiritual and eternal interests imperiled.Ms 36, 1889, par. 5–6 They excel in strength and cooperate with God's people amid difficulties, yet Satan seeks to cast his hellish shadow across the pathway and hide that ladder from view.Ms 66, 1895, par. 12 Believers must still face Zion and press upward, planting feet on one round after another and advancing to the throne of the Infinite, where a glorious crown and a robe woven in the loom of heaven await the overcomer, and whenever a person takes a step toward Jesus, Jesus takes steps toward him.Ms 66, 1895, par. 12+1 The whole heavenly host is given to work for heirs, and the ministry must be accepted to give strength and power from on high to overcome and keep a pleasant, temperate, thankful household instead of serving the devil through strife.Ms 159, 1904, par. 33–34

By taking humanity Christ joins His interests with fallen sons and daughters of Adam below while His divinity holds the throne of God, and in this way He opens communication between man and God and God and man, which the angels carry on.2SP 67.2 All blessings from God to people come through their work, and all the miracles Christ performed for the afflicted and suffering were done by the power of God through them, as they ever move up and down from earth to heaven and from heaven to earth.2SP 67.2 In their ministration they constantly bring light and strength from heaven to souls striving for eternal life, while engaged in warfare against satanic influences that are strong, fierce, and determined to overthrow every soul who loves and fears God.Ms 51, 1890, par. 29–32 As they carry out this mission they come to understand the plan of redemption, marvel at the great change in human hearts, adore the Lord of all power and grace, and with joy read the names registered in the book of life.Ms 51, 1890, par. 29–32 Their continual service maintains the connection between heaven and earth and unites finite humanity with the infinite God as part of God's care for human life, while Jesus teaches that God's concern for eternal interests is greater than His care for temporal needs.3SP 48.1 In innocence Adam had open communion with his Maker, but sin brought separation and cut off direct approach, and only the atonement of Christ could span that abyss and make communication possible, so God communicates with fallen man through Christ and angels to minister blessing and salvation.PP 67.2

Ministering angels can hold communion with fallen man only through Jesus, for sin separated earth from heaven and ended free communion between God and man.SC 19.2–20.1+1 Jesus as the ladder is the only appointed medium of communication, who with His own merits bridged the gulf that sin made and connects man in weakness and helplessness with the source of infinite power.SC 19.2–20.1+1 The cherubim woven into the tabernacle curtains represent this angelic host, whose work is connected with the heavenly sanctuary and who serve God's people on earth.1SP 273.2 The cherubim inwrought with threads of gold and silver into the beautifully arranged colored veils and ceiling represented them as connected with the work of the heavenly sanctuary and ministering to the saints upon the earth.ST Mar 4, 1903

Angelic service is service and not sacrifice, for an angel's life could not pay for human sin, and only the death and intercession of God's Son could save humanity.ST Nov 25, 1913+1 Angels would gladly have died in place of their Commander, but only He who created man had power to redeem him, so their appointed part in the plan of redemption is to guard the subjects of grace from the power of evil angels and from the darkness thrown around them by Satan.ST Nov 25, 1913+1 Because Christ was to be made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, and in human nature His strength would not be equal to theirs, they were to minister to Him to strengthen and soothe Him under His sufferings, bringing comfort and strength to the suffering Son of God.PP 64.3–65.1+2 Even when filled with grief and indignation at witnessing their Lord's agony and humiliation and wishing to deliver Him from His murderers, they were not to interpose to prevent the scorn and abuse He consented to suffer as man's Redeemer.PP 64.3–65.1 The same angels that ministered to Christ minister to those who shall be heirs of salvation, for Christ lived in this world the life believers must live, met the foe single-handed as they must meet him, and asked and received power to enable Him to overcome in the conflict.ST Jan 8, 1902 Those who walk in God's way may have that same power through this angelic ministry, so that as He overcame they may overcome, as angels surrounded and ministered to Christ during His wilderness temptations so He was not alone in His conflict with Satan.ST Jan 8, 1902+1

Angels are sent to help the heirs of salvation, especially when danger comes as they struggle against evil.Lt 68, 1903, par. 7–12+2 The host of heaven watches over God's people with interested care, ready to minister in danger and in time of need, including to the young.SCE 3.1+2 Holy angels protect those who belong to God, thwarting Satan's plans, delivering from dangers including accidents, and preserving them for service, which gives confidence and trust in God's constant care.1T 346.1–2+2 They continually guard believers and keep them from attacks of evil angels and from harm and accident, appointed as ministering spirits lest the powers of evil destroy them.5MR 252.3+1

Angels are commissioned to minister to those who will inherit salvation, guarding them from evil and pushing back the forces of darkness that seek to destroy them, showing heaven actively interested in their salvation.MH 253.3+2 Thousands upon thousands minister for them, and their care gives reason for gratitude even amid apparent difficulties, for the Lord Himself is their helper.RH May 7, 1908+2 Angels of God engage in continual conflict with evil angels, entering dangerous places to rescue God's children from Satan's snares and driving evil angels back by their presence.SG2 277.2 They also invisibly restrain Satan's power and the conflict of nations until God's people are sealed.MH 253.3+1

Thousands of angels are sent so God's people need not be discouraged by persecution and spiritual conflict, for the Captain of the Lord's host is with them and fights the battle for each one.Ms 27, 1891, par. 20–22+1 Victory does not depend on ministers or laypeople but on this Captain who dwells with those of a contrite spirit, while the whole loyal universe sympathizes with the faithful soldier.Ms 27, 1891, par. 20–22+1 God sends strong angels to help strivers to overcome, shining light to resist evil angels and surrounding them like a wall of fire, as ample help for the weary, burdened, discouraged and distressed.RH Apr 19, 1870

Angels watch the conflict between people and the prince of darkness, waiting for God's people to seek heaven's help and staying close to those needing assistance in the fight of faith.9MR 277.2+1 They hover about sad, dejected, trembling souls who think God has left them and drive back evil angels lest they utterly destroy them, proving God's love still toward them while Jesus retains their name and pleads for them before the Father.Lt 17, 1862, par. 5 They throng heaven and watch with intense interest each harassed, perplexed, persecuted, denounced and condemned child of God to see if he will look to heaven for strength, and those who cast away false props and look to God through the one Mediator for grace and power never look in vain.Ms 38, 1887, par. 4

Holy angels protect God's people from Satan's schemes, including dangers intended to destroy life and usefulness in God's work.SG4 262.1–3 They thwart harmful plans in human councils, deliver from accidents, and guard the steps of the physically blind from unknown dangers, while Jesus gives strength to bear trials and resist temptation.3T 516.1+2 Those receiving such care must control nature, passions, words and actions into submission to God.3T 516.1 Angels stand beside physicians in difficult surgeries saving lives that would have been lost, stand by in deadly danger and sickness to preserve life in answer to prayer, and guard on journeys giving protection and comfort.Ms 28, 1901, par. 20+2

Angels swiftly come to aid those overwhelmed by temptation and discouragement, drive back surrounding evil, guide to a sure foundation, and strengthen suffering Christians, for the conflict is real with eternal outcome.PK 175.3+1 They watch over tempted children, shield from evil angels, and bring help to the despondent fiercely attacked by Satan, in continual mission of love whose zeal should inspire believers to care and sacrifice.SG2 267.1–2 They serve God's people on earth who endure temptation and trial and share Christ's suffering, helping give the church power and effectiveness and keeping connection between heaven and God's children.Ms 142, 1899, par. 10 They help those fighting wrong to persevere and give victory.Ms 22, 1898, par. 20

Angels are commissioned to minister to those under fearful assaults of the enemy, surrounding them even when they appear alone.Ms 57, 1890, par. 3 Christ in the wilderness of temptation appeared alone with Satan but was not alone, for angels were round Him, and He met and overcame Satan, the one expelled from heaven after the war there.Ms 57, 1890, par. 3 God sends strong angels with light to resist evil angels around those striving to overcome, surrounding them like a wall of fire.RH Apr 19, 1870+1 The soul feeling its nothingness and relying wholly on the Saviour's merits, though apparently helpless, is invincible, for God would send every angel rather than allow such a one to be overcome.RH Jan 20, 1903

Heavenly beings minister keeping power to resist and overcome every temptation great or small, as Christ received heavenly aid in His conflict, coming close to the tried, suffering and tempted to help them resist as Christ did.6MR 383.3–384.1+2 When people value this help and put will on Christ's side, angels minister for salvation, but deliberately entering danger without God's call leaves one exposed.6MR 383.3–384.1+1 God's angels watch over those in danger of falling under Satan's power, and when people turn back, plead humbly and confess wrongs, angels rescue and contend against evil angels to free them.MYP 60.1–2 Protection belongs only in ways God marks out and along duty's path, not on a path of Satan's devising or presumptuous daring, as Christ would not leave God's path to prove His character and gave example to keep feet in God's providence.13MR 324.1–325.2+1

God assures day-by-day and hour-by-hour protection through angels guarding those who will receive salvation from Satan's temptations and malice, calling for gratitude, cheerfulness, prayer and special strength from God.Lt 22, 1883, par. 2 Christ and holy angels engage in real controversy with Satan and evil hosts over redemption, with wonderful work for rescue from bondage and constant power for protection, which prepares God's people to withstand devices, solemnizes with the vast plan, and humbles yet encourages as co-laborers with Christ.ST Nov 11, 1913 Angels minister as faithful sentinels guarding all heirs lest Satan destroy them, yet keeping of the precious soul cannot be committed even to angels, for only Christ who valued and redeemed it by death can keep it.Ms 73, 1893, par. 11–13

Angels serve God's people from earliest moments through life, guarding, protecting in danger, preventing persecution and suffering, pleading for the oppressed in councils and courts and thwarting harmful plans.ED 305.1–2 Their care continues through death, surrounding believers in the soul-trying hour and refreshing souls with the water of life so the dying are sustained until resurrection and the eternal morning.ED 305.1–2+1 The redeemed will learn from guardian angels how God intervened and how heavenly beings cooperated in works for humanity.ED 305.1–2

Angelic work is closely connected with God's servants, watching for every opportunity to bring workers into contact with susceptible minds ready to receive truth, showing where to go and guiding footsteps, going before those doing His work and joining them in it.RH Apr 20, 1905+2 They prepare the way for messengers working for conversion, including going before laborers in New York and other large cities to assist them with those open to truth.Lt 67, 1899, par. 13–14+2 This leading continues today as in the past when workers allow the Holy Spirit to sanctify their tongues and refine hearts, showing the Lord's care over every mind open to truth.RH Apr 20, 1905

God commissions angels to work alongside appointed messengers bringing light and warning to cities and villages, helping carry out their efforts against Satan's discouragement and turning of minds to falsehood, which calls preachers to encourage faith and hope in humility and unwavering trust in the promises.STMW7 3.1+2 They direct and unite with appointed ministers and medical missionaries, guiding workers in planting truth in important places such as Washington, arousing men of influence and in high places to study present truth, and aiding influence on minds so the work is firmly established where not yet proclaimed and every opening improved.Lt 165, 1899, par. 17–18+2 They likewise work alongside servants preaching to their poor fellow believers.Lt 165, 1899, par. 17–18+1

Angels minister grace, power and efficiency to servants as they proclaim truth, while God's Spirit goes before to move hearers to respond.Ms 65, 1908, par. 2+1 As the Word is explained they are present impressing listeners' minds and helping them become witnesses, ministering grace to both speakers and hearers.RH Apr 8, 1909+2 They minister both to workers and to those for whom they work to pass on divine light received.Lt 12, 1892, par. 17+1

Angels minister to those being brought under truth by softening hearts to make them receptive.TBC1872 52.1+1 They notice honest seekers for light and bring light to appointed human agencies, placing willing men and women where they can teach and preach Jesus, for heavenly messengers do not themselves preach but God sends light through their ministration to His people under the Holy Spirit so His people can give it to the world, every soul being precious.Ms 8, 1900, par. 4–8+1

Angels call true believers to share salvation and provide the way and means when obeyed, with their sympathy engaged as saints dispel darkness and spread knowledge of God and Christ.6T 433.5+1 They call every person to work for Jesus, urging even the idle to go work in the vineyard and speak all the words of life so those in darkness receive light, and those who heed diffuse knowledge and present Christ as the only Mediator with the way prepared before them.ST Apr 1, 1897+1 Each angel constantly seeks to set every believer to work, rejoicing when Christ's sacrifice reconnected the world with heaven and sorrowing when those so favored feel no burden for souls, standing ready to combine divine power with fully consecrated self-denying effort to defeat foes and beat back spiritual wickedness so believers walk even among principalities and powers.6T 433.5+1

Working to bring the unsaved back is angelic work, and angels seek to inspire people to join it, surrounding and helping laborers.18MR 281.1–2+1 When people engage with all heart and energy in earnest work for the unsaved they become closely allied co-workers with angels and with Christ, brought nearer heaven and Jesus with holy elevated sympathy, with excellent glory dropping upon them as dew, so they should not grow weary.Ms 3, 1877, par. 1+1 Those receiving grace cooperate by sharing hope and drawing others with Christ in connection with those to be saved.18MR 281.1–2+1

Angels cannot take the place of human workers or discharge their duties, though assigned to stand ready to cooperate in drawing souls to Jesus and helping human effort for others' salvation.Lt 47, 1894, par. 34–35+1 Their work is orderly and harmonious and cooperates successfully with people who act in order and unity, while disorder and confusion hinder and disorganization is not blessed.1T 649.1–650.1+1

God's angels have charge of His work on earth and oversee it, counseling and directing it and His people through chosen human agents, so it is not left in the hands of any one person on earth.LJAHS 37.1+2 The armies of heaven join their work to earth to serve future heirs, and human ministers labor in full view of those heavenly watchers.LJAHS 37.1+1

Jesus works through human minds by ministering angels to aid in making and sharing printed truth to warn the world that the end is near.STGC 22.2+2 Their ministry attends preaching ministers and also books containing truth and canvassers teaching from house to house.AAC 4.1+1 They assist in publishing institutions and guide, counsel and restrain managers and prepare hearts to be sanctified, since human wisdom alone is insufficient, though Satan's influence and heresy obstruct by perverting minds.8T 93.1+2

The verse applies to born-again canvassers guided by the Holy Spirit and working in Christ's way, whom holy angels accompany and instruct, going ahead to prepare the way in homes.MC 12.1+2 This heavenly help is greater than expensive embellishments or attractive illustrations, because the work cannot be done in human strength.CEv 13.1+2 Angels likewise accompany believers circulating books under divine guidance while the Spirit attends, preparing the way so books reach as many homes as possible.MC 12.1+1

Angels minister to those working for souls so even the humblest toiler is a coworker with God and Christ as the work advances along providential paths.LSEGW 307.1+1 They join workers and open doors, surrounding those doing appointed work and vitalizing them for labor, including the decided work of selling Christ's Object Lessons to free schools from debt.RH Jun 17, 1902+2 Taking up present work promptly and thoroughly brings tender hearts, spiritual thoughts, Christlike service and peace and joy in fulfilling God's purposes, while holding back in unbelief and criticism loses that peace.Ms 99, 1900, par. 3+1

All angelic messengers serve humble believing ones in aggressive warfare for gospel truth under apparently discouraging circumstances, helping win conquests over worldly opposition, idolatry and heathenism as the last mercy message goes forth, connecting the church below with the church above while heaven watches and the choir above joins the redeemed below in praise to God and His Son.Lt 139, 1900, par. 5+1 They rally around the Redeemer's banner with those fighting the good fight of faith, and the soul feeling nothingness and relying wholly on the Saviour's merits, though apparently helpless, is invincible, for God would send every angel rather than allow such a one to be overcome.Lt 139, 1900, par. 5+1

Angels attend those visiting others in personal house-to-house labor, accompanying seekers to reach people where they are through acquaintance, prayer and sympathy to win hearts and open access to perishing souls, which visiting work is the highest missionary work and cannot be done by proxy, money, preaching alone or pulpit sermons.RH Dec 29, 1904+2 When a humble contrite worker with living connection visits families to teach and pray, angels enter the family circle and prepare minds to receive the word.RH Dec 29, 1904+1 They likewise minister to teachers who drink deeply of salvation and receive blessing, helping them lead youth to Jesus.RH Dec 29, 1904+1

Angels from the heavenly courts are unseen companions beside all who minister to fellow men, as beside the Samaritan caring for the wounded stranger, with Christ Himself cooperating as Restorer so work under His supervision sees great results.COL 388.2+1 Ministering angels stand beside every true-hearted son and daughter of God serving the suffering and needy, so God's children do not work alone.COL 388.2+2

Heavenly angels minister alongside believers going out to serve and speak truth, being with them and helping meet needs.RH Jul 16, 1908+1 They minister with humble faithful sharers of truth including canvassers and Bible readers opening the Scriptures, and are needed in the workers' home, in the tent and with every gospel worker.RH Jul 16, 1908+2

Angels cooperate with faithful teaching and Christian education, including training people for God's work.HPMMW 7.2+1 They attend students seeking instruction for higher purpose who submit wills to God, accompanying every step and guiding the way they should walk, and would speak with teachers were they not bound by worldly customs.10MR 319.1–2+1 They quicken understanding of a student teaching others, bringing clarifying thoughts so the youthful teacher fearing God is instructed while instructing, whether conducting a class in reading or spelling or other study, with no loss to his own instruction because imparting prepares the mind to receive more.10MR 319.1–2+2 The same ministry attends the Christian physician speaking of the soul's value and danger apart from Christ and sowing truth.HPMMW 7.2+1

Angels ministered to Israel on wilderness paths of rocky heights and rugged travel while God provided water, bread, safety and guidance, showing Heaven's interest in human happiness and that God does not delight in His children's suffering.ST Oct 21, 1880

All inhabitants of heaven are in active service to a fallen world near and far, taking deep fervent interest in salvation in lands including Europe and Scandinavia, though dwelling in the pavilion of the Eternal beholding God's glory.Ms 65a, 1900, par. 25–27+1 They watch and wait for human agencies to be deeply moved over perplexed, tried, sorrowful fellow workers, calling humans as hand helpers to unite with omnipotent powers under angelic ministration, benefited by higher education and experience, using talents, voice and means through the Spirit to build institutions, free indebted ones in Denmark and Norway by united wholehearted use of lent means, lead souls from darkness and Satan's plotting to be washed in the Lamb's blood, and do God's will on earth as in heaven to His honor and glory.Ms 65a, 1900, par. 25–27+2 The value of this ministry is measured by the Son of the infinite God giving His spotless life to shameful death for believers, and angels rejoice to see sinners repent and turn to God.Ms 65, 1900, par. 21–24

God's people are not left to labor alone, for angels minister to future heirs and Christ is their helper.Ms 37, 1902, par. 30–32+1 Christians working faithfully in home, church and world are helped and not left alone.Ms 37, 1902, par. 30–32+1

Angelic agencies minister today throughout congregations with God-given power for the race, present to impress hearts with merciful truth.Ms 147, 1901, par. 18+1 At the same time Satan with his invisible army opposes to divert minds and cast hellish shadow to eclipse God's glory, so two parties are present, one ministering and one counterworking.Ms 147, 1901, par. 18

Heavenly beings around God's throne are ready to serve future heirs, watching human choices and prepared to join every good work of relief and enlightenment for those ignorant of truth.7MR 373.3–375.2+1 Ministering angels wait about the throne to instantly obey Christ's mandate answering every prayer offered in earnest living faith.7MR 373.3–375.2+2

The Word is full of instruction able to make people heirs of salvation, and those receiving its knowledge must share it with others.14MR 341.2–342.2+1 In Bible study humble seekers of divine guidance have angels from the world of light with them to help understand precious truths given by Christ.Ms 8b, 1891, par. 15–16+2

God gives every soul the guardianship of heavenly angels, holy ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation, and He is constantly at work for people through them.Ms 1, 1890, par. 1–2+1 These angels communicate with people and keep them every moment by divine power, because no one by anything he does can uphold or keep himself, and without their ministry people would be left helpless.Ms 1, 1890, par. 1–2 This truth is to be taught in the church and in families and kept in remembrance in connection with every soul.Ms 1, 1890, par. 1–2

Angels serve as guardians watching over the heirs, especially the youth and students in school, and their work is to watch over them.Ms 65, 1901, par. 17+1 Ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands minister to the youth in the world, and if the unseen world could be seen they would be seen watching.Ms 65, 1901, par. 17 God's people bow before Him in prayer asking that His angels give this watching care to students, and students are to cooperate with God and with those prayers.Ms 13, 1900, par. 14–15

Ministering angels guard children dedicated to God through parents' prayer and faith, hear their praise and prayers of faith, and carry their petitions to God.CT 110.3+2 When parents dedicate children in morning family worship, gathering the whole family before leaving for labor with the father or, if absent, the mother pleading fervently and humbly for children entrusted to them amid temptations and dangers of the day, by faith binding them upon the altar and committing them to the Lord's care, then angels keep and preserve them from evils to which they will be exposed.Ms 12, 1862, par. 4–6 If children are not thus committed they are left through the day to Satan's power and evil takes firm root in the heart.Ms 12, 1862, par. 4–6

God sends His angels to help even little children trying to do right, and every effort to do right is noticed by Him.ApY 58.1–2 When a tempted child prays to God in faith for strength, God hears and commands His angels to go and stand by that child, to gently guide in the right path when evil angels try to lead astray, and to drive back Satan's power from him.ApY 58.1–2 Holy angels are asked to guard the family because its members face temptations and daily trials.MH 392.2–393.1 They are commissioned to watch in every family with each person under the watchcare of a holy angel moment by moment, guarding and keeping by God's power, helping every desire to do right, giving strength and grace to do good, and assuring of the Lord's love and care.Lt 82, 1900, par. 1–5 They watch over families and minister to them, working with children so they may reflect Christ's character and be conformed to the divine image.Ms 34, 1896, par. 4–5

They are invisible and present even when not seen, because natural eyes are not strengthened to discern their light, yet they rejoice when Scriptures are searched and obeyed, come in a marked manner to those who respond to evidence of truth and try to obey it, draw near to those who pray so prayers are heard, and sometimes let their light shine distinctly to be recognized in order to encourage rightdoing, thankfulness, and courage.Lt 82, 1900, par. 1–5 This ministering is given where families are well ordered and well disciplined and set up the standard of righteousness in home religion, educating children from very childhood to love things of eternal life because this life is but for a moment and passes away and a firm hold on the future immortal life is needed.Ms 79, 1886, par. 8 Those who live this way bring angels of God with them into the house of God when they go to worship Him, and the greatest power is felt in the church where such families exist.Ms 79, 1886, par. 8 Where real Bible religion is lived out, leavening the life and refining and ennobling character to be more like the divine model, making the home vocal with prayer, thanksgiving and praise, angels minister in the home and accompany the worshiper from such a home to the house of prayer.Lt 55, 1886, par. 8

The angels of God minister in families to give special help from God in saving the world, and in households where God's Word is faithfully taught and His gifts received with gratitude, God and heavenly angels continually minister.Ms 16, 1893, par. 17+1 To have their ministry a family must come out from the world and be separate, let Christ in when He knocks, be emptied of envy and filled with His grace, educate children for God and teach them His love and power, and be parents of prayer working with earnestness and zeal for the unconverted, and then divine power will come to them as it came to Jesus Christ.Ms 16, 1893, par. 17 Their work helps heirs make their homes models of the heavenly family.Ms 60, 1903, par. 11+1 They abide in the home and work with a gentle, restraining influence on the hearts of parents and children.Lt 25, 1904, par. 10

Angels are sent to minister to God's children, guarding the steps of people who are physically blind and protecting them from dangers they do not know about.3T 516.1 Jesus gives strength to bear trials and resist Satan's temptations, but those who receive this care must seek to control their nature, passions, words, and actions and bring them into submission to God.3T 516.1 They watch over God's tempted children, shield them from evil angels, and bring help to those who are despondent and fiercely attacked by Satan.SG2 267.1–2 Angels continually carry out this mission of love, and their zeal for the salvation of people is an example that should inspire believers to care and sacrifice for others.SG2 267.1–2

Heavenly messengers sent to minister to those who will inherit salvation would converse with teachers if teachers were not content with tradition or afraid to depart from the world's influence.6T 161.3+1 Attachment to old customs, tradition, and worldly ways can keep teachers from receiving their help, so teachers must not close the way for the Lord to enter the hearts of the young.6T 161.3+1 The school at Lodi, with its parents, teachers, and students seeking to serve Christ, will have the watchcare of angels.Lt 21, 1910, par. 6 Unseen ministering agencies, good or evil, help shape students' characters through their influence, and habits formed and use of opportunities mold intellect and character, leading toward allegiance to Christ or rebellion under the prince of darkness, with eternal consequences.Ms 69, 1897, par. 21

Born-again canvassers guided by the Holy Spirit and working in Christ's way are accompanied and instructed by holy angels who go ahead to prepare the way in homes, a help greater than embellishments and necessary because the work cannot be done in human strength.MC 12.1+2 Ministering angels bring strength, grace and glory through Christ to heirs who sincerely seek holiness, so that no one is too corrupt to find strength, purity and righteousness in Jesus by turning from sin to God.CH 614.2+1 Heavenly messengers would converse with teachers if they were not content with tradition or afraid to depart from worldly influence, and teachers must not close the way for the Lord to enter young hearts.6T 161.3 They work alongside believers who must cooperate in rescuing people and leading them to Christ.RH Apr 28, 1903+1 They were present at school amusements but disapproved and were ashamed that professed children of God took part.CT 350.2 Every true worker letting Christ's love flow through, obeying law and following compassion, is connected with these helpers, whose service includes interest in salvation of those for whom Christ was given.RH May 13, 1909+1

They watch over individuals by gently warning, correcting and guarding without forcing the will, leading the submissive away from danger and preventing ruin, while one repeatedly rejecting counsel and insisting on an independent course can drive them away leaving Satan to control will and mind.SG2 277.3–278.1 Each saint has an attending angel watching in danger or discouragement, carrying news to heaven, sent by Jesus to encourage and keep on the narrow path, carrying glad news when eyes fix on reward and praise God, grieving at rejection of care and rejoicing at faithfulness.EW 31.2+1 God commissions angels to assist those doing their part, and believers are called to cooperate with them in building institutions devoted to service.6T 461.1–462.1 Angels that excel in strength attend heirs in numberless multitudes and impart divine power so they become partakers of divine nature escaping corruption through lust, staying beside everyone wrestling lawfully for victory so he is not worsted, while despising this provision and choosing earthly things brings great loss and unfitness for eternal life.ST Jun 26, 1893+1 God sends strong angels to strivers to overcome, shining light to resist evil angels and surrounding like a wall of fire as ample help for the weary, burdened, discouraged and distressed.RH Apr 19, 1870

They are intensely interested in sincere prayers of humble believers abiding in Christ, cooperating with them and surrounding with holy influences in service to God and others.RH Mar 4, 1909 They call true believers to share salvation, and on obedience the Lord prepares the way and provides means to go.6T 433.5 They are active workers serving God by ministering to human beings, proving heaven is not idle ease, and faithful laborers for Christ will enter joy and promised rest.ST Nov 12, 1885+1 They guard the steps of the physically blind from unknown dangers, while Jesus gives strength to bear trials and resist temptation, requiring control of nature, passions, words and actions into submission to God.3T 516.1

Ministry to fallen people is possible only through Christ who alone opens communication, as the ladder in Jacob's vision with foot on earth in descent into human suffering in sympathy and pity and top reaching heaven in divine power linking finite to infinite, through whom angels pass bearing love and help.LC1 149.2–3+2 Holy angels guide, guard, control and direct in right paths because Satan and evil angels constantly deceive, allure to disobedience, confuse with false ideas, remove landmarks and shut out light, so faithful sentinels mean none need despair over inherited evil but must repent, confess and forsake when convicted.Ms 8, 1900, par. 12 Angels of light serve and accompany even when unknown, every soul having a silent guarding witness seeking to win and draw to Christ and guarding as long as hope remains until the Holy Spirit is finally resisted, interested in assemblies worshiping in spirit and truth and beauty of holiness, listening to testimony, thanksgiving, praise, supplication, songs and prayers, taking up earth's praise into the heavenly anthem and rejoicing because Christ has not died in vain.Ms 32a, 1894, par. 6–7+1 They excel in wisdom, strength and efficiency in judgment and mercy.16MR 16.1 In vast numbers of thousands upon thousands and ten thousand times ten thousand they give active watchcare guarding against temporal evil, pressing back darkness, shielding from peril and preventing destruction Satan would bring, a mercy to be recounted often with thanks every moment and trust even in apparent difficulties, whose neglect dishonors the Maker.Ms 152, 1898, par. 6–7

They always have access to God's presence, meaning God guards His people's interests and vindicates trusting children, counting intimidation, unkindness or contempt toward them as toward Himself and punishing wrong, vindicating justice, truth and righteousness, so nothing should be gained by hurting another and dealings should reveal mercy, justice and love rather than abhorred selfishness and oppression whose course is written in heaven and reacts upon the oppressor whatever his standing.Lt 177, 1900, par. 31–33 They are the angels Jacob saw ascending and descending the ladder of shining brightness with base on earth and top to highest heavens, God above it with light and glory along its length, keeping communication between heaven and the fallen world so man is not left to the invisible foe to be snared, deluded and imperiled in spiritual and eternal interests.Ms 36, 1889, par. 5–6 They excel in strength and cooperate amid difficulties, ascending and descending a ladder from earth to God's throne which Satan seeks to hide by hellish shadow, requiring believers to face Zion and press upward round by round to the throne where crown and heaven-woven robe await the overcomer.Ms 66, 1895, par. 12 They watch the conflict with the prince of darkness, wait for God's people to seek heaven's help, and stay close to those needing assistance in the fight of faith.9MR 277.2

Inhabitants of heaven are ministering spirits while God also works through repentant people entrusted to make His law known and carry out His will.Lt 75, 1904, par. 18 They cooperate with human beings, and those believing in Christ and walking humbly without striving for supremacy but watching to help, bless and strengthen others cooperate with them, receiving from Jesus grace, wisdom and righteousness to be a blessing, receiving most when humblest because receiving does not exalt but is used to impart, while angels receive instruction from the throne and grace of Christ to give to human beings and impart spirit and power essential for success.Ms 165, 1898, par. 7–9 They work to make a right impression on every worker, and those laboring for spiritual welfare in sanitariums, publishing houses and schools should cooperate by personal interest, spiritual speech, prayer with the discouraged, and interesting cheerful meetings.Ms 81, 1901, par. 15–17 Holy angels stand beside those serving God by caring for others and encamp around the small company who love and fear God, sensed by the spiritually alert.13MR 133.3 They communicate with and guard His people pressing back darkness from control, as the Lord's established line of communication requiring families, guardians and every soul to keep the fort, work in harmony with them and stand on the Lord's side.Ms 1, 1890, par. 9–10 They surround the path bringing light, power, grace and glory from the throne, needed more in last-day perils requiring close connection and dependence on divine power over human wisdom, while unbelief and lack of discernment drives them away and shuts the soul so light cannot enter and Christ's power cannot reach.Lt 59, 1890, par. 13–14

God sends angels in continual conflict with evil angels, entering dangerous places to rescue children from snares and driving evil angels back by presence.SG2 277.2 Their work is closely connected with servants, watching for opportunities to bring workers into contact with susceptible minds ready for truth, showing where to go and guiding footsteps, leading workers to fellow men and cooperating with teachers of truth to show care over open minds, especially when the Holy Spirit sanctifies tongues and refines hearts.RH Apr 20, 1905 They are commissioned to work alongside appointed messengers bringing light and warning to cities and villages.STMW7 3.1 Believers cooperate by encouraging the oppressed to trust the Lord and helping brethren in Europe.6T 465.1 Cherubim woven into tabernacle curtains represent this host whose work is connected with the heavenly sanctuary.1SP 273.2 Holy angels are heavenly beings not disembodied spirits of the dead, existing before humanity, superior in nature, innumerable, powerful, glorious and swift, serving God in rule and redemption and carrying out His will.ST Dec 1, 1909

Through Christ as Jacob's ladder with base on earth in human nature and top at God's throne in divinity, illuminated by God's glory shining into every believing heart to enlighten, strengthen and encourage, rebels submitting to drawing power may through His merit and ransom in perfection be reconciled and justified with intercourse opened.ST Dec 11, 1893 They swiftly come to the overwhelmed by temptation and discouragement, drive back evil, guide to a sure foundation, in a real conflict with eternal outcome.PK 175.3 They are commissioned to those under fearful assaults, surrounding even when appearing alone, as Christ in the wilderness appeared alone with Satan yet angels were round Him, and in direct conflict with the one expelled after war in heaven Christ overcame and Satan was defeated.Ms 57, 1890, par. 3 They serve throughout life guarding from earliest moments, protecting in danger, preventing persecution, pleading for the oppressed and thwarting harmful plans in councils, continuing through death, with the redeemed hereafter learning from guardians how God intervened and heaven cooperated.ED 305.1–2 They hover about sad, dejected, trembling souls who think God has left them, driving back evil angels from utter destruction to prove love still toward them while Jesus retains their name on His breastplate and pleads before the Father.Lt 17, 1862, par. 5 They protect from Satan's schemes against life and usefulness, giving reason for confidence and trust.SG4 262.1–3

Those committing the way to the Father daily and placing themselves under guardianship have angels at the right hand in danger, and when in unconscious danger of wrong influence angels prompt a better course, choose words and guide actions so influence becomes through grace a silent mighty power drawing others to Christ.RH Feb 15, 1906 They attend, record words and actions, mark sincere prayers, and prompt toward a better course and influence actions to resist wrong and keep from leading others astray.STSE 32.1–33.1+1 They know each person's condition and faith, and sins and worldly conduct of professed followers grieve them.2T 125.1 Seeing claimants of the inheritance acting selfishly, covetously and unfairly they turn away in grief and shame as reproaching holy truth.2T 238.2–239.1 Watching to guard, they call for holy conduct and are grieved by trifling conversation, jesting and careless indifference, requiring holding obtained victory, enduring temptation and trial of faith more precious than gold, suffering for Christ and glorying in tribulation rather than sinking back.RH Feb 17, 1853

There is joy in their presence when a soul turns from sin to righteousness, and they are displeased to see such souls including faulty fellow workers treated indifferently, requiring Christians as missionaries to give time and labor to win one soul, bear patiently with warped characters unreadable in motive, and never cast aside in discouragement.MH 493.5–494.1+1 They comfort the sorrowing, protect the imperiled and win to Christ throughout earth without human limits on who will be saved, and welcoming Christ's needy and suffering welcomes unseen angels and their companionship, with deeds of mercy bringing joy in heaven.DA 638.1–639.2+1 God sends them to help even little children trying to do right, so that when a tempted child prays in faith God commands them to stand by, gently guide in the right path when evil angels lead astray, and drive back Satan's power, with every effort to do right noticed.ApY 58.1–2
