Hosea 1:11
Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel. Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
Hosea 1 stands as a rebuke of backsliding from God, conformity to the world, idolatry, and departure from God. That unfaithfulness is set forth as adultery. It is a mingling of heaven with earth and of righteousness with sin.
The same setting carries warning that such unfaithfulness would bring coming captivity upon Israel. Yet beyond apostasy and captivity the verse looks forward to the future restoration of God's people. That restoration is blessing from God given as the result of repentance.
