Hosea 1:8

Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

Hosea 1:8 stands within the prophecy of Hosea delivered about 750 B.C. Hosea was the last of the great prophets of the kingdom of Israel. His prophecy warned of the coming captivity and against wicked alliances, while at the same time giving hopeful appeal and foretelling the future. The verse belongs to the record of Israel's backsliding, idolatry, and departure from God, in which the mixing of righteousness with sin is set forth as spiritual adultery.
