Hosea 10:6
It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel. It shall be also carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
The calf idol worshiped at Bethel and Dan, the calf of Samaria, would be carried away to Assyria as a present to King Jareb. This King Jareb is Sennacherib. Its carrying away was part of the punishment the ten tribes were to reap for their apostasy in setting up altars for calf worship. In that outcome Ephraim would receive shame, and Israel would be ashamed of his own counsel, and the folly of that counsel would be exposed.
