Hosea 12:11
Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields. Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
Gilead stands charged with iniquity, and its guilt is answered with certain judgment. Its religious practices are declared worthless and vain, not accepted worship but corruption and falsehood. The sacrificing of bullocks at Gilgal is the proof of that corruption, and the altars multiplied like heaps scattered through the furrows of plowed fields show how far the false worship had spread.
