Hosea 13:10
I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes? I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?
The verse declares that the Lord Himself is Israel's true king and the only help able to save them, with kingship and deliverance found in God and not in any human ruler. No other king, judge, or human ruler can save the people in all their cities. Israel's demand for a king and princes cannot provide the deliverance they need, and the question about the king and princes they had asked for exposes the failure of the human rulers they sought in contrast to God's power to save.
The verse applies when a few men assume control over the whole work instead of letting God direct it, teaching that no human being is to act as king to dictate and control God's work. Even in Israel's deepest apostasy and need, it was given as an offer of forgiveness and hope.
