Hosea Offers Grapes to a Weeping Gomerby emmanuel_higgins

Hosea 2:15

And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

After apostasy that brings bitter retribution, the verse offers grace to repentant Israel. He brings her into the wilderness and speaks comfort to her, giving hope and restored joy. He gives her back her vineyards, restoring the blessings of the promised land to the penitent, including those who unite with His church. He makes the valley of Achor a door of hope, an opening to hope. She answers by singing there, with the joy of the days of her youth and of the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt, as at deliverance from Egypt.

That restoration reaches its complete fulfillment in future glory for the Lord's chosen church, a people gathered from all nations and prepared for Christ's second coming. Through Christ's death the valley becomes a door of hope for fallen humanity under sentence of death for breaking God's law, so that those who believe in Him are cleansed from sin, receive His righteousness, and are restored. Through work devised by God an opening of hope may be provided for people, especially by manufacturing health food in the Southern field to serve the cause and its people and the neglected poor there, rather than as a means of personal gain through speculation.
