Hosea 2:22

And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.

The promise looks to the last days when God renews His covenant bond with His people. Those who enter that renewed covenant are His commandment-keeping people. The renewal is pictured as an ordered chain of hearing and answering that runs from God through the heavens to the earth. God hears the heavens, the heavens hear the earth, and the earth answers by bringing forth grain and wine and oil as the produce of the land. The grain and the wine and the oil in turn hear Jezreel by supplying what Jezreel needs, and Jezreel answers God's call. In this setting the fruitfulness of the land is itself an act of divine mercy and restoration, assuring God's people of restored security, fruitfulness, and mercy.
