Hosea 4:5
Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother. Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
Hosea 4:5 warns against trampling upon God's law in order to follow religious leaders and human lawmakers instead. To reject divine authority for human authority in this way is to place oneself under the threatened fall by day and by night, with destruction upon the mother church that nurtures such disobedience. This warning applies directly to the conflict over the Sabbath, when human laws require Sunday observance while God's law requires keeping His Sabbath.
