Hosea 5:10

The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

Hosea's prophecy was written about 750 B.C. Its comparison likens Judah's princes to those who move boundary markers, meaning they broke through established limits and acted unjustly. The condemnation falls on the princes together with the people, priests, and rulers as guilty of gross iniquity. For that wrongdoing God declares that He will pour out His wrath upon them like water.

The prophecy predicts the coming captivity. The book predicts the nation's desolation. It warns the people against wicked alliances. Alongside warning and judgment it contains hopeful remonstrance, tender expostulation, earnest entreaty, and further prophecy of the future.
