Hosea 7:6
For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire. For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
Israel prepared the inner life for wrongdoing while remaining in a posture of ambush against what was good. The heart was made ready as an oven, heated from within by wickedness that was deliberately kindled and kept alive. Through the night the baker slept while the smoldering heat continued unseen, showing evil cherished in secret without immediate outbreak. In the morning the same heat burst into flaming fire, showing iniquity fully matured and ready to break forth into open act.
