Hosea 8:13
They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt. They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
Outward worship in which flesh is sacrificed and then eaten does not secure divine acceptance for those who continue in sin. The Lord's refusal to accept such offerings is bound to transgression of His law and to breach of the everlasting covenant. That everlasting covenant is given on condition of obedience.
Instead of acceptance, God responds by remembering iniquity and visiting sins with punishment. The declared return to Egypt forms part of the prophecy of the sinful condition of the world before the second coming.
