Hosea 9:4
They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
Israel’s drink offerings to the LORD will be withheld and will fail to please Him. Their slain offerings will stand toward them as the food belonging to mourning, so that everyone eating of it becomes unclean. Their bread will remain for their own use and will not be brought into the house of the LORD. The soul named in connection with that bread is the person or physical self, making the bread for the soul the food that sustains bodily life.
