Hosea 9:6
For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles. For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
Hosea 9:6 belongs to Hosea 8–14 and warns Israel, the northern tribes, that they will go into captivity because of coming destruction and exile. Egypt will take the people away and Memphis will become their burial place. Their abandoned pleasant places for silver and their dwellings will be overrun and possessed by nettles and thorns.
