Isaiah 1:28

The destruction of transgressors and sinners together, and the consuming of those who forsake the Lord, is a coming joint destruction for rebellion against God. The shame for the desired oaks and chosen gardens is shame for pleasure grounds made attractive with flowers and music where intoxicating liquors are sold. That fulfillment is still future, when the strong and their work burn together with unquenchable fire like fading oaks and waterless gardens. The warning applies to those who license and sell intoxicating drink and thereby destroy their neighbors. It warns those who have turned from God's instruction and failed to walk in the light given to them.
