Isaiah 10:2
To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless! To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
To turn aside the needy from judgment and to take away the right from the poor means to deny the poor a fair hearing and to pervert justice, showing no pity and leaving widows and fatherless children exposed to exploitation and robbery as prey to be plundered. It is the act of those entrusted with justice turning the needy aside and stripping away the rights of God's poor, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless.
In Isaiah's day this was the failure of the magistrates and those in authority in Judah to protect the helpless, turning a deaf ear to the cries of the poor and needy, the widows and the fatherless. Those responsible for justice denied a fair hearing and took away rights, and this social injustice and oppression marked Judah.
Upon such oppressors rests God's woe and condemnation, for their conduct is an offense against God's law which He abhors and will not allow to be discarded. The oppression is carried out by using unjust laws to take away the rights of the poor. This same turning aside of the needy and robbing of the helpless describes the condition of the world in the present time.
Making unjust laws to uphold error is oppression of truth done in union with satanic agencies by people who are deceived and deluded, placing them on the opposite side from those who receive truth and stand to vindicate pure truth. God calls people to practice justice, kindness and mercy, and those who disobey in this matter by turning aside justice from the needy and depriving the poor, widows, and fatherless of their rights make themselves prey to judgment.
Speaking proudly and seeking to rule over fellow men, making resolutions and holding principles decidedly contrary to God's Word, turning away from justice and equity, and treating fellow men unjustly is walking away from God. This includes sanctioning methods that treat God's workers as inanimate machines, a practice God abhors.
