Isaiah 10:20

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

In that day the escaped remnant of Israel and of the house of Jacob will no longer lean for support on the one who struck them, but will lean upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The faithful who have escaped will cease all reliance on those who smote and oppressed them and will place true dependence on the Lord alone. In the last days this remnant is drawn from every nation as men and women answer God's call to them. That call comes to them as a message declaring His judgment.

Those who respond turn away from earthly idols to worship the Creator and to obey God's requirements. By this obedience they are recognized as those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. The remnant also embraces Jewish people who acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah and receive Christ as their Savior. They are saved through the gospel in the same manner as Gentiles.
