Isaiah 10:22

For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

Though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet only a remnant of them shall return and be saved. That remnant includes Jewish people who recognize Jesus as the Messiah and accept Him as their personal Savior. The prophecy applies to believing Jews from Paul's time onward. The promise applies across the ages, God calling both Jews and Gentiles to salvation through the gospel, which is effective for everyone who believes. The verse proves God is abundantly able to transform the hearts of Jew and Gentile alike and to grant to every believer in Christ the blessings promised to Israel.

God will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, for the Lord will make a short work upon the earth, and probation is very brief. The third angel's message must go and be proclaimed to the scattered children of the Lord, but it must not be hung on time. Preaching time produces false excitement, but the third angel's message is stronger than time can be, stands on its own foundation, and needs no time to strengthen it. The third angel's message will go in mighty power, do its work, and be cut short in righteousness.

Infinite wisdom comprehends the end from the beginning, and the Lord knows every case and how to deal with each one. While believers are burdened and distressed and wait in patient submission without failing or discouragement, the unseen Helper works through providential events to bring decided reformation or to separate half-hearted, world-loving church members from true believers. God's tests and proving will be sharp and decisive, so every soul must humble himself before God and prepare for what is ahead.
