Isaiah 14:19

But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

Isaiah 14:19 portrays Satan's overthrow by setting him against kings who rest in honor within their own graves, making his exclusion the measure of his disgrace and isolation. He is cast out of his grave like a rejected and loathsome branch, denied burial and left exposed like a body slain by the sword that goes down to the stones of the pit as a carcass trodden underfoot. This humiliation falls upon him because he destroyed his land and slew his people, laying waste the earth and bringing death upon its inhabitants.

With the wicked dead and beyond his reach, he is cut off from power over them and from his power to deceive them. Left with his evil angels, he remains to look upon and suffer the effects of the curse which sin has brought. Through the thousand years he remains confined upon the desolate earth, with nothing to exercise his power upon but the ruin around him, confronting the results of his rebellion.
