Isaiah 14:28

In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.

In the year that King Ahaz died a prophetic burden was dated. It was a sworn declaration by the Lord of hosts that as He had thought so it should come to pass, and as He had purposed so it should stand. That oath gave certainty that Assyria would not always prevail.

In that message God declared He would break the Assyrian in His own land and tread him underfoot upon His mountains. Then his yoke would depart from off shoulders and his burden be lifted from them. This was declared to be the purpose purposed upon the whole earth, with His hand stretched out upon all the nations. What the Lord of hosts had purposed none could disannul, and His stretched-out hand none could turn back.
