Isaiah 17:11 belongs to the prophecy of God's judgments upon Damascus. It pictures human planting in which the plant is made to grow by day and the seed is made to flourish by morning, with quick and promising increase. That very harvest, however, becomes only a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.
