Isaiah 2:4
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
The account of the Lord's house and mountain is to be taken in its plain sense as stated, not exchanged for symbolic meanings in which Jerusalem is made to mean the church and the Lord's coming is made to mean missionary work, nor whittled down to a Methodist class meeting. It will be fulfilled in the near future when Jesus takes the kingdoms and takes and possesses the kingdom under the whole heavens. At that time He will judge among the nations and correct and rebuke many peoples, and will cause wars to cease unto the ends of the earth. Until then war and bloodshed have existed, still exist, and will continue to exist. This is because war is popular, and to kill and destroy is counted brave and worthy of reward, while for six thousand years God has patiently borne with human ignorance and wickedness, testing people and entreating them to return to loyalty, to listen, and to be saved, but they refuse.
