Isaiah 21:17

Isaiah 21:17 belongs to the first part of Isaiah, chapters 1–39, which consists of distinct prophecies and historical accounts from the period of Isaiah's active public ministry, later collected together. The surrounding prophecy of Isaiah 21:11–17 concerns the attacks of the Assyrians and Chaldeans upon the Arabs descended from Ishmael. Those attacks greatly harassed the Ishmaelite Arabs and nearly wiped out some of their tribes.
