Isaiah 22:11

Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.

Isaiah 22:11 stands within the prophecies of Isaiah 20, 21, and 22 concerning Assyria, the wilderness of the South, Idumea, and Israel. It portrays the people of Jerusalem constructing a ditch or reservoir between the two walls to hold the water of the old pool. Yet in that work they did not look to God as its maker, nor show respect to Him who had fashioned and planned it long ago.
