It is to be sung over with joy and celebrated because it is fruitful. The Lord Himself keeps it, watering it every moment and guarding it day and night lest anything hurt it.
He has no fury toward it, but whoever sets briars and thorns against it He will go through in battle and burn up altogether. The vineyard is entrusted to faithful keepers who care for it on His behalf. In this is expressed His purpose to gather a people who bear fruit for Him. He will cause those of Jacob to take root, and Israel shall blossom and bud and fill the face of the world with fruit.
