Isaiah Rebukes the Proud Daughters of Zionby emmanuel_higgins

Isaiah 3:16

Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

In its original setting the verse describes the pride and love of display that accompanied wealth and oppression in Judah. The daughters of Zion are haughty, thinking only of appearance and display, walking with outward pride and self-indulgence in a provocative and immodest manner. Their conduct is connected with sexual indulgence and with the corruption and suffering that such indulgence brings. The verse that follows declares that the Lord will bring judgment upon them for this conduct.

The verse applies to the last days as a reproof to professed believers whose worldly, display-centered choices reveal a lack of Christian experience and responsibility.
