The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
The verse lists bonnets, ornaments worn on the legs, headbands, tablets, and earrings among the finery and displays of the daughters of Zion. The list stands as part of a reproof for pride and love of display shown in caring much about outward appearance. That love of display accompanied wealth and oppression. This outward display is set in contrast with the beauty of a meek and quiet spirit. The prophecy applies to the last days.
