Isaiah 3:25

Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

The verse belongs to the last days. It foretells that the men of Zion, its mighty men, shall fall by the sword and in war. That threatened judgment shall be strictly fulfilled, and its fulfillment shall prove those whom it describes.

It concerns in particular young men and women who profess Christianity yet lack genuine Christian experience and have felt no personal responsibility. Those professing Christians have carried no burdens, have borne nothing in the cause.

Those brought under this judgment shall be brought low, and in their lowness shall long for the experience with God they failed to seek and failed to gain. The surrounding prophecy joins to this warning a reproof of the daughters of Zion for caring only about appearance and display.
