Isaiah 3:6
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand: When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
Isaiah 3:6 stands within a prophecy of Judah's decline under continued wickedness. That persistence in wrongdoing left its rulers enfeebled and childlike, unable to govern with strength or wisdom. The resulting condition was a land left in ruin, broken down in its social and civil order. In that desolation a man who still retained clothing, as a mark of remaining means and respectability, is seized upon and urged to become ruler and take the ruined state under his hand.
