Isaiah 3:7
In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people. In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
Isaiah 3:7 belongs to a prophecy of Judah's collapse in which God takes away the people's support and rulers, leaving the nation without stable government. In that desolation a man seized upon to lead refuses to rule, protesting that he is no healer and that his own house has neither bread nor clothing. That refusal lays bare the weakness and disorder that rebellion against the Lord brings, and the collapse and hardship that accompany divine judgment.
The same prophecy reaches to the last days, when those who have lived chiefly for appearance and display will be brought into distress and testing.
